Aker Solutions has recently won a contract to provide umbilicals for the Statoil-operated John Sverdrup, Utgard and Bauge developments, which are all located offshore Norway. The scope of the contract involves a delivery of a total of more than 40km of subsea umbilicals. All the manufacturing will be done at Aker Solutions’ umbilicals plant in Moss, Norway. When Phase 1 of Johan Sverdrup is finished it will consist of a field center with four bridge-linked platforms, with 35 wells, and three subsea satellites for water injection, all in about 120m water depth. The Utgard gas and condensate field, which cuts across the Norwegian and UK North Sea, will be a two-well subsea tieback (one well each side of the median line, with the template on the Norwegian side). The Bauge field development concept includes one subsea template, two oil producers and one water injection well.
