Tipco Technologies, a fluid solution supplier for industrial, hydraulic and high-purity applications, is celebrating its 130th year in the hose solutions distribution and fabrication industry. Starting as a single-location, single-service business, it now offers numerous products and services in 12 locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
The company was originally founded as a Goodyear Rubber 1888, and then changed hands, names and locations throughout the next century, eventually settling in Owings Mills, MD, with additional branches in Frederick, MD and Chantilly, VA. By 2001, it had evolved into Tipco Technologies, Inc.
According to the company, its longevity and success can be attributed to its customer-centric business approach, intuitive solutions, and strong relationships with clients and suppliers.
“Rob [Lyons, Tipco President] has helped many of his customers grow their businesses,” said Jeff Johnson, Area Sales Manager at Eaton Hydraulics. Johnson’s relationship with Tipco began in 1987 when he was Sales Manager at Boston Hose. “I think these shared successes are something to be proud of.”
