Schauenburg Hose Technology to Sell Its Medical Tubing and Extrusion Businesses

Schauenburg Hose Technology has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its medical tubing businesses GlobalMed Inc. and Schauenburg‐Truplast to Molded Devices Inc., a portfolio company of US private equity firm TruArc Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

GMI is a pure‐play medical tubing manufacturer with over 40 years of plastic extrusion expertise serving the world’s leading Medical Device OEMs in the fields of Anesthesia, Respiratory, Ventilation, Surgical (Smoke Evacuation) & Sleep Apnea. GMI is headquartered in Trenton Ontario, Canada with offices and production locations in both Trenton Ontario, Canada and Guangzhou, China.

The current management team of GMI in Canada and China will stay on board and join forces with MDI’s leadership team. “We’re truly excited about our new partners and the opportunity MDI offers to GMI”, says Alan Flieler, GM of GMI Canada. “The combination of GMI and MDI offers our customers an expanded and global set of injection molding, design & development, and assembly capabilities.”
