NORMA rated above-average achievements – sustainability

NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, has achieved an “outperformer” status in the sustainability rating from independent service provider Sustainalytics. The result ranks the company 18 out of 145 rated companies in the mechanical engineering industry worldwide.

“Since 2012, we’ve systematically addressed our commitment to Corporate Responsibility with measurable targets,” says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. “Our good ranking in the Sustainalytics rating shows that these various measures in the areas of employees, environment, society, product solutions and responsible action have been effective. We feel it validates the approach we’ve taken to actively pursue our goals for sustainability.”

Sustainalytics, an independent ESG and corporate governance research, ratings and analysis firm, examines environmental, social and governance factors, or ESG. NORMA Group achieved an above-average performance (outperformer) overall. The company scored highly in the areas of water management, environmental protection and work safety as well as in obtaining external certifications for these areas. The evaluation covers diverse criteria, from company initiatives to reduce greenhouse gases, defined social standards for suppliers and the autonomy of the Supervisory Board. NORMA Group’s ranking was completed in December 2016, based on data from 2015 and 2016.
