The second biannual Hose + Coupling World Americas Conference & Expo is fast approaching and the Hose + Coupling World team is excited to deliver a high-quality, informative and networking-filled event for all attendees. Taking place on December 2nd and 3rd, 2020, at the San Jacinto College LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, & Technology (CPET) in Pasadena, TX, the highly anticipated Conference & Expo will act as a meeting point for industrial hose and coupling professionals to develop business relationships with both new and past participants.
Excited sponsors for the upcoming event, hose manufacturers Continental and Hose Master, spoke with Hose + Coupling World magazine about their positive experiences as exhibitors at the 2018 event, and shared their hopes for the 2020 show.
Networking and Maintaining Relationships
The Hose + Coupling World Americas Conference & Expo provides an important platform for the development of company and client relationships; it provides a space for personal, face-to-face interaction. In this space, industry professionals have the opportunity to meet and get to know each other, while learning about new technologies and market trends. “As is the case when you attend any conference for the first time, we were not sure what to expect at the Hose + Coupling World Americas 2018 show, but it exceeded our expectations,” explained Frank Caprio, Corporate Trainer and Major Market Specialist at Hose Master. “We saw solid attendance by manufacturers, distributors and end users representing various hose styles and equipment types. Hose Master is keenly aware that attending a show like Hose + Coupling World Americas is a great way to promote our brand to distributors and end users alike. The 2018 event was a great opportunity to get our value proposition out to audiences from all levels of the industry, including key end user contacts that we might not otherwise have had the chance to meet.”
The 2018 Hose + Coupling World Americas event also welcomed a number of additional industry-leading companies, including: RYCO, Flexaust, Proco Products and Continental, who were looking to develop new business relationships by exhibiting their products. “For a first-time event, the Hose + Coupling World Americas 2018 Conference & Expo was good. Continental had the opportunity to meet several of our local distributors, industry supply partners, and met new customers during the conference and tradeshow,” said Randy Kish, Manager Distributor of Marketing for Industry Hose North America at Continental.
“Gaining new business is something we expect from the exhibition, but the networking and relationship-building are just as important,” stated Caprio. “The Hose + Coupling World Americas 2018 show gave us the ability to meet many new people, while simultaneously reaffirming old friendships, which is seldom accomplished at a single event. We would not be successful if it were not for our current customers, and this event gave us a wonderful venue to show how we do better, by helping them do better.”
Sharing Technical Expertise
While the exhibition gave vendors the chance to showcase their latest products, technologies and services, some exhibitors also took the opportunity to share their technical expertise during the conference workshop sessions. “We saw a lot of activity at our booth as a direct result of our presentations during the conference workshop sessions,” Caprio explained. “The many technical presentations given by representatives from different sectors of the industry provided great information for everyone; it felt like you would have missed a lot by missing this event.”
Similar to the 2018 show, the Hose + Coupling World Americas Conference 2020 will feature keynote presentations given by industry leaders, such as event Chairman, Kerry Millen, Piping Systems Engineer. The conference will also feature a number of workshop sessions that will highlight the hottest topics in the industry including Hose Safety, Hose Technologies, Materials Selection, Best Practices, and more. By addressing these important topics, presenters and attendees have the chance to discuss some of the most common issues being experience in the industry today, and begin working together to try and solve these issues. “This year, for example, it will be important to discuss economic forecast information, as we are hopefully coming out of the COVID-19 crisis,” stated Kish. For this reason, it is important to have the involvement of manufacturers, distributors and end users; to share the different ideas and perspectives on issues that are being experienced across various sectors of the industry.
After organizing a well-attended and successful 2018 show, the Hose + Coupling World Americas team aims to exceed the expectations of all exhibitors, delegates and attendees at the 2020 event. “Hose Master is confident that this year’s event will build on the success of the 2018 show, and draw an even larger contingent of end users interested in safety, reliability and cutting-edge technology,” said Caprio.
“We are hoping for expanded opportunities in 2020 and beyond as this program grows, and to invite attendees from beyond the southern U.S. region, to give this event a more national and international feel,” Kish expressed. “Furthermore, Continental hopes to find new opportunities for our products and to meet with existing customers and suppliers.”
The Hose + Coupling World Americas Conference & Expo 2020 will once again be a meeting point for all hose and hose-related applications manufacturers, distributors and end users that are connected to the oil and gas, chemical and petrochemical, pulp and paper and food and beverage industries. By involving such a wide audience, the Hose + Coupling World Americas event aims to grow the hose and coupling community as a whole. “While there are other conferences and tradeshows focused on specific industries or applications, this show provides a level of diversity that cannot be matched. If you want to speak to the widest audience during a single event, the Hose + Coupling World Americas Conference & Expo 2020 is a great show,” said Caprio. “We are pleased to be a sponsor of this event; it is a great opportunity for us to promote better quality and safety in our industry.”
