In order to expand its product portfolio and offer its customers a more complete range of options, technology company Continental is introducing a new universal hose with static dissipating UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) liner for multiple food, chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications for the North American market.
“This product is specially made for applications where static dissipation is a requirement such as conveying chemicals in an explosive atmosphere,” said Randy Kish, Continental’s marketing manager for fluid power products.” “The inner liner of the hose is constructed with a white non-porous UHMWPE liner that is compliant with FDA regulations.”
The VersaChem hose is targeted to the petrochemical industry, downstream and midstream bulk hauling, tank trucks, railroad cars, pharmaceutical industry as well as food and beverage industry and distilleries. The hose offers a 250 PSI working pressure and complies to ARPM guidelines on 4:1 safety factor that is critical in hazardous applications. The hose is built on a chromed mandrel to ensure that it is FDA/USDA compliant, resistant to conventional cleaning agents and CIP processes. “Additionally, the hose improves operational efficiency by offering one hose to numerous applications and industries,” said Kish.
The hose is available immediately through Continental’s North American distribution network.
