Alpha Process Controls’ CERCs for small LNG transfers

Alpha Process Controls Cryogenic Emergency Release Collar Couplings (CERCs) for small scale LNG transfers were recently on show for the first time at Gastech exhibition and conference in Tokyo, Japan.

The range is available in 1.5 in, 2.5 in. and 3 in. configurations and uses a mechanical cable release system instead of the conventional break-bolt type, thereby reducing the forces required to separate the coupling. Using this technology means that conventional break-bolt couplings, which can place excessive loads on transfer pipework and hose systems, are not required.

The launch of the small scale CERC range supports Alpha Process Control’s increasing presence in the global LNG market. The company has recently reached agreements with Tachyon in South Korea and Somec in Japan, which will represent the company in South East Asia.
